Did you know Big B took adrenaline shots to remain conscious to shoot Sholay during the day & Deewaar at night?

The versatile star of Bollywood, Abhishek Bachchan, who has been entertaining the audience for over two decades, said that he is envious of the era where his nephew, Agastya Nanda, got to prepare for his character before starting the shooting of his debut movie The Archies. The actor recalled how during his initial days, he just used to show up on set and follow the director’s lead. He revealed how it was more challenging during his father, Amitabh Bachchan’s time when the megastar used to juggle between multiple shoots at the same time. The _Ghoomer_ star also recalled Shashi Kapoor’s record for the most shifts in a day as he was juggling 11 different projects at the same time at one point. However, later the rules were imposed restricting the number of films one actor could do at a time.

“I was doing double-shifts early in my career, and I was tired one day, and went home early in the morning. He was having his breakfast, ready to leave. He said, ‘How was it?’ I said I was very tired. Very casually, he said, ‘We used to do a lot of this. I was shooting Sholay about an hour’s drive from Bengaluru, where the Ramgarh set was. We would shoot all day, I would pack up, take an hour’s drive to Bengaluru airport, take a flight to Mumbai, go straight to Ballard Pier, where we were shooting the climax of Deewaar. I would shoot all night, come back home, take a shot of adrenaline, fly back to Bengaluru the next morning and shoot all day’. He did this for a month,” said Abhishek Bachchan while talking to Galatta Plus Hindi. He said that when he asked his father when did he sleep, Big B replied, “Once you take the adrenaline, you can’t sleep.” Eventually, Sholay and Deewaar turned out to be among the all-time classics of Bollywood.
