India’s AI startup Sarvam AI has been in trends lately, where the company has made major progress in AI building large language models (LLMs) from scratch. As the chatbot game upgrades, Sarvam has released its AI chat app, Indus on app stores. Indus is available to download on the Apple Appstore and Google’s Play Store.
Indus website is running on its website along with its app. However, there needed to be proper knowledge to access it to the fullest.
What is Indus?
Indus is the AI chatbot of Sarvam AI. Recently during the AI Impact Summit, 2026, the Bengaluru based startup made its full impact allowing machines to read and interpret text from images and documents.
According to the company, users will be able to interact with the AI chatbot in every Indian household. This also includes the ability to switch languages mid-conversation, such as going from English to Hindi and vice versa.
Sarvam has voice command features like other chatbots like ChatGPT, and Gemini. The AI chatbot will be answering to the queries and outforming other chatbots are establishing itself as a rising challenger in a field long dominated by Western tech giants.
How to use Sarvam Indus AI chatbot?
Users can download the chatbot on Apple store, play store or access it directly on the website. The second step will be creating account on the chatbot by verifying phone numbers or email.
Once logged in, type or speak your question. The chatbot responds in natural language text or audio. It understands multiple Indian languages and code-mixed conversations (like Hinglish).
To use the voice command, tap the microphone icon and speak your question instead of typing. This is helpful for hands-free use.
What does Indus do?
Indus comes with AI agents that allows users to automate tasks using AI agents. The company also indicates that one may know to write and edit documents within the app itself.
It also enables uploading images, pdfs to produce similar search results. You can ask it to break down ideas, explain news, translate text, define terms, or summarize long content into simple points.
