The National award-winning actress Priyamani, who has shown her acting mettle in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam, has opened up about receiving less remuneration compared to her male co-stars and how it doesn’t affect her anymore.
“It is true. But that’s okay. I believe that whatever is your market value, you ask for it and you will get paid for it. There have been times when I was paid less than my male co-star. It does not bother me, though. I know my market value and my worth. This is my opinion and my experience. I will charge what I believe I deserve. I won’t ask for an unnecessary hike," said the _Jawan_ star while talking to News18.
Talking about the working style in the north and the south, she added, “The working style is different in both. In South, they generally start on time. They will start at 7 or 8 am. When we say 8, we actually start at 8 no matter what. Here I have noticed that when you say 8, people arrive at that point of time."
On the professional front, Priyamani will be next seen in the third season of The Family Man. Created by Raj and DK, the show also features Manoj Bajpayee, Sharib Hashmi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Nimrat Kaur, Ashlesha Thakur, and Vedant Sinha in prominent roles. It will stream on Prime Video.
She was recently seen in the Malayalam thriller Officer on Duty, which also featured Kunchacko Boban, Vishak Nair and Jagadish in prominent roles. It was directed by Jithu Ashraf. The talented actress will also be seen in Jana Nayagan, which marks Thalapathy Vijay’s final film before his retirement for politics. The movie also stars Vijay, Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol in key roles.
