Best phones to buy under Rs 100,000 in India

Apple iPhone 17

The latest Apple iPhone 17 with 256 GB storage can be yours in this budget. And with the right credit cards, you can even score its 512 GB variant under a lakh, but we would advise against spending close to 20K for just additional storage. The iPhone 17 has a 6.3-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display with a resolution of 2622 x 1206 pixels, 120 Hz refresh rate and 3000 nits peak brightness. The screen is protected by a layer of Ceramic Shield 2 glass.

The iPhone 17, despite being slightly larger than its predecessors, still has a great hand feel. It has IP68 rated ingress protection and supports wireless charging. Battery capacity has marginally increased to 3692 mAh providing the phone with a couple of hours extra backup. The device is powered by Apple’s new A19 chip and runs iOS 26 out of the box with more OS updates to follow over the years.

The camera department comprises a 48MP main camera with dual-pixel PDAF and optical image stabilisation (OIS) that has been carried forward from the iPhone 16. The ultra-wide camera sees a significant upgrade from a 12MP unit to 48MP with auto-focus. The selfie camera also sees a jump to 18MP, and interestingly, also has OIS. The Apple iPhone 17 performs admirably in photography and videography both; no surprises there.

You get a 50MP primary camera with dual-pixel PDAF and OIS and a 48MP ultra-wide camera with 123-degrees FOV and dual-pixel PDAF that lets you capture some excellent macro shots in addition to its primary functionality. And let’s not forget that excellent 48MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS that sets it apart from its non-Pro variant and provides 5X optical zoom. The cameras do a stellar job across different lightings and modes.

Pro tip:

Or should we call it Pro XL tip? Jokes apart, the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is also available for a similar price on Flipkart, but the stocks seem to be playing hide and seek at the moment. If you prefer a phone with a larger display and battery, you may want to keep an eye out for that one.

Vivo X200 Pro

The Vivo X200 Pro holds on to its position in this list. It is not just a powerful phone but one that has managed to take on the likes of Apple and Samsung in the photography game too. Just competing with them is an achievement but beating them in certain areas is just incredible. The photography department here, assisted by Zeiss optics, consists of a 50MP primary camera with Sony’s LYT-818 sensor, one of the most versatile 200MP periscope telephoto cameras around with Zeiss colour correction and a 50MP ultra-wide camera.

The X200 Pro is powered by a flagship Mediatek Dimensity 9400 chip with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage and also has one of the best displays around.

Its 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision compliance, 4500 nits peak brightness and a resolution of 2800 x 1260 pixels is mighty impressive.
